Account Manager
We’re a creative agency specialising in how companies talk.
For us it’s all about getting to grips with our clients’ brands, getting to know them, getting inside them, then developing them, using our own brandtalk®
creative process. We then take this further, creating a tone of voice that’s unique to each client, and applying that to every way they talk to their own
customers, whether that’s through audio, spoken or written word – we cover it all from our studio in West London.
About the role
We’re very precious about our client relationships and want to find someone quite extraordinary to take care of a core group of clients and their needs.
You’ll have two main responsibilities in this role. The first is to look after, retain, and grow the relationships we have with a core group of clients.
Measurement of this growth is directly through the revenue driven into the business from these clients.
The second is to act as the ‘client’ within our business, briefing in projects to ensure you’ve given the right information to the soh team so we can manage
and deliver these on time and in budget. From the client’s perspective, you should be working as an extension of their business. You will sympathise with
their needs, help work out the best solution for them, assume responsibility and do whatever it takes to deliver the project. When things go wrong from time
to time (and invariably they will) you’ll stick your chin out, take responsibility and do everything to make things right. When things go right (and very
often it does), you’ll share the credit – you are soh.
What we’re after aka reasons why you’ll be extraordinary:
We want someone with confidence and authority who has a good grasp of how to deliver great results and grow the relationships with our clients. You’ve got
the commercial nous to generate real value for the client and great benefit for us (£). Someone who can demonstrate success in a creative services
environment. And show they can plan and direct in a fast-paced space – really roll their sleeves up and get stuck into the nitty-gritty. Someone who is a
great relationship builder, and who can balance the needs of different (sometimes conflicting) stakeholders.
Essential experience & know how:
- Graduate
- ‘Gets’ brand, understands the marketing mix, and how it relates to the customer experience
- Proven track record of sales/account management achievement, with at least four years experience either gained in:
- An agency environment (currently working as an Account Manager/Senior Account Manager), or
- An internal client-side role with relevant experience, where you have had to service internal/external customers both with reactive and proactive
servicing,
- Experience of managing and building client relationships – corporates / blue
chips, with at least two years` experience of managing and owning senior
client/stakeholder relationships, with responsibility for account development,
financials and management,
- Ideally been involved in pitching and presenting to new and existing clients,
- Worked in a project-based environment and had responsibility for delivering
projects on-time and on-budget,
- Great communication skills – listening and influencing – and can get buy-in from
internal and external people at all levels.
- Understands contact centres or the telecoms environment.
Desirable experience:
- Has previously worked with music production or in a studio environment,
- Has worked in a creative environment,
Primary responsibilities:
- Managing and growing a portfolio of soh clients,
- Building long term relationships with clients,
- Uncovering opportunities within our clients’ businesses that can be exploited,
- Delivering projects on time, and in-budget, that exceed client expectations.
